As you know, I’m Dutch. And I love England and English as language. It’s a language that almost everyone speaks. (am I right?) I’ve a very good friend in the Chez Republic. We both speak different languages but because we both have learned English we’re really good friends now for more than 4 years! And that’s amazing. All what one language can do!
But I still have a little struggle when it comes to speak English. I read English books and that’s not really hard to read for me. But speaking is different. In English you’ve the ‘th’. Words like: THink, THings wiTHout, THought. In Dutch we don’t have that. And that’s for me one of the hardest thing to speak out loud. At least I thought….
But then I found this poem and tried to read it and I almost wanted to give up speaking English. I’ve never stuttered this much while reading/speaking. And now I challenge everyone to read this poem and I hope that you guys struggle too while reading this. HAHAHA(!) Especially native English speakers. I really want to know how easy it was to read this. Have fun!
If you can pronounce correctly every word in this poem, you will be speaking English better than 90% of the native English speakers in the world.
